When I become a teacher, I would like to utilize a course website. It is different from just handing out information or a piece of paper with a syllabus on it about how to find grades, feedback, etc. Using Canvas in my college courses has helped so much and has made finding everything school related so much easier.
An online software tool that I would constantly use as a potential teacher are the Microsoft Office tools and Adobe. These softwares allow students create anything imaginable in order to complete their course work. As a teacher, I would be able to create quizzes, PowerPoints full of valuable information and even games like Jeopardy. I can use Adobe because it provides a lot of photo editing and movie creating tools that I actually use in my free time now. My potential students can use this software to create fun projects that reflects on what they learned in class.
Microsoft Word and Powerpoint can be used to create and update my resume for current and future employers As for my classroom, I can use these softwares for notes, quizzes and games. Adobe can be used to present certain animations that I create to my class.
I’ve never created a website before, so it took me a little longer to figure everything out. I liked the website I made because everything I had incorporated into it is original meaning that it came from me. The pictures I used were taken from my phone and edited in a way that captures the beauty of Paris. The only thing I didn’t like were the directions on the site because I thought that they were not very clear.
Lake Norman High School:
My high school website when I attended provided the teachers of the school and their information including email and extension phone number. Now that I have gone back onto the website almost four years later, I noticed that the administrators of the website have removed all information regarding getting in contact with the teachers of the school. The only contact information that is provided is the schools main email and phone number. Grades 9-12
Twitter: I have been trying to interact with everyone on twitter who has something interesting or funny to say. I think it is beneficial to utilize twitter because it is a great resource to learn information from. In this day and age, a lot of people have used social media as a platform for news and information to stay up to date with things going on in the world.

SL #5: Use Digital Media –> This is one of the ELA Standards that I would enjoy relaying to my future students simply because I know that children and people in general enjoy listening and watching information as opposed to having to constantly read from a textbook. I would be able to utilize this concept more so than the others because I already have a good idea with how technology works.
RHST.7: ‘Multimedia’ History/Social Studies –> This particular ELA Standards would be difficult for me to follow through with because I am not educated enough on History or Social Studies. Finding accurate research data on this topic would be difficult to find as well.
Since I want to be a French teacher, I think that my students ages would more than likely be high schoolers from freshman to senior year. The software applications I would use is the website called Quia.com. I currently use this with my foreign language classes in college and it has helped a great deal with understanding French and Arabic. I would also use Kahoot.it as a source of review and possibly a quiz since it is a fun application that most people enjoy. The digital concepts that I would definitely need to address are ensuring that the softwares and applications I am using are ethical and have a positive impact in my classroom with my students.
Some of the new skills I learned from creating the newsletter were having the ability to add blocked colors to certain places and not others, and creating a layout that is appealing to the eye. I didn’t mind creating the newsletter it was just a little more time consuming than I thought it would have been. In the future, I can use what I have learned from this assignment to create newsletters for my future students to give to their parents so that they are informed and up to date with what is going on in my classroom and the events happening at the school.
Evaluation of Dynamic Instructional Design
For teachers, it is crucial to utilize technology in the classroom. Technology literacy becomes vital in preparing students for our technology enriched world. It is a basic skill in our day and age just like reading, writing and speaking is. Students enjoy using technology in the classroom because it enforces creativity and we are able to quickly access anything at our finger tips. It is an easier way to learn about subjects as opposed to purchasing textbooks that will be thrown away within the year.
One of the ISTE standards that I was particularly drawn towards was the Innovative Designer. It allows students to create new and innovative ways of going about doing things in the classroom. However, one that is outside of my skill set is the Digital Citizen simply because you can only learn so much from technology and being on the computer. You don’t learn about the outside world or really any hands on activities.
I would consider students today ‘Digital Natives’. There are so many new and improved technological advances that have occurred and still continue to evolve in our world. Teachers would be described as « Digital Immigrants’ because in my opinion they are not as up to date with technology as many younger citizens are. Some of the differences that I anticipate with my future students would be that I am not as advanced as they are with technology and that I will have to go the extra nine yards to understand the new technology in the world in the years to come.

We use technology everyday. It has evolved into something that we as humans need in our lives to get by. We rely on technology for work, social interaction, learning and so many other things. Ever since I was small, technology has played a role in my life. Growing up I had the typical pink Razor flip phone which then evolved into the Apple Iphone and now we have IPads, Macs and airpods. I use technology today to edit photos, take videos, watch tv and interact with friends.
In EME 2040, I hope to learn what else technology can be used for, especially in the classroom. I want to learn how I can utilize electronics to help better educate my future students.
I have always known that my learning style has been hands-on and visual. For me, that is what works best because I find it very difficult to grasp certain concepts when it comes to specific subjects that I am not good at. I enjoyed taking this quiz and learning about myself even more and what I can do to better my education.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
